How to deal with access troubles of e-journals and databases

◯Please install the plugin.

The access method for e-journals and databases has changed since October 2019.
You need to install a dedicated plugin on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
(Complete transition date: January 28, 2020)
You cannot access the e-journals and databases from a PC that does not have the dedicated plugin installed.
Please refer to the link and install.
◯Log out of your Google account.
- Sign out of Google in Google Chrome.(See diagram below)
- Try whether you can install the plug-in in Google Chrome again.

Depending on your account type, there are cases where you are cannot access to Chrome Web Store
while you are logging in to your Google account.
Please try the following steps.


If you cannot install the plug-in by this way, please use the form below.
◯Please turn off the plugin when accessing the PC version of "Visible Body".

The specifications of the vendor Ovid have changed.
Due to the change, [When accessing the PC version of "Visible Body"],
plugin must be off.
After turning off the plugin, try to access the PC version of "Visible Body".
For PCs connected to the campus network, simply turn off the plugin.
If you want to access the PC version of Visible Body from off-campus, such as at home,
Please turn off the plugin and use it for VPN connection.
◯Please connect to Kuins Air and authenticate the app version of "Visible Body".

Just after installing the app version of "Visible Body", it cannot be used because it is locked.
To unlock, connect to Kuins Air and perform authentication.
※Kuins Air is on-campus Wi-Fi.
After certification, you can use it offline for 150 days even from off campus.
Connect to Kuins Air and launch the "Visible Body" application within 150 days.
This will automatically extend the period to 150 days.
If more than 150 days have passed, please follow the steps in the previous item with the Kuins Air connected.
Then it will be extended for 150 days in the same way.

◯If the icon is not displayed.
There are four possibilities.(a) The plugin installation may not be completed.
- Click the three vertical dot icons (setting button) in the upper right corner of Chrome.
- Click the "Settings" displayed third from the bottom.
- Click "Extensions" displayed on the left side of the transition destination page.
If "Kulib EJDB service" is displayed in the list, the installation is complete. - Click the icon with three lines in the upper right corner of Firefox.
- Click on the add-on.
- Click the "Extensions" displayed on the left side of the transition destination page.
- If "Kulib EJDB service" is displayed in the list, the installation is complete.

(b) During Firefox private browsing, the icon is not displayed if you don’t
allow it to run in a private window.
Please select "Kulib EJDB service" from "Extensions" in "Add-ons" and
allow it to run in a private window.
(c) The icon is not displayed when the display setting of the Chrome extension is not fixed.
- Click "Extensions (puzzle piece icon)" in the upper right corner of Chrome.
- From the list of extensions displayed, click the "Pin mark" of the extension of "Kulib EJDB service".


(d) When "Remove from Toolbar" is selected once in Firefox,
the icon is not displayed after reinstallation.
Click the three vertical line icons in the upper right corner of your browser
and select "Customize".
If the plugin is installed, this icon will be displayed.
Right-click and select "Add to Toolbar (A)".

◯Clear cache.

→E-journals and databases could not be accessed even after clearing the cache.
◯Allow execution in private window.
The "dedicated plugin system" cannot be used unless it is allowed to run in a private window.Make sure your browser allows it.
- Click the three vertical dot icons (setting button) in the upper right corner of Chrome.
- Click "Settings" displayed third from the bottom.
- Click "Extensions" displayed on the left side of the transition destination page.
- Click the details of "Kulib EJDB service" from the list of diastoles.
- The extension setting screen is displayed.
Scroll down and check "Allow in incognito" is turned on (blue color).
If it's not on, change it to on and restart Chrome.
- If the color of the plugin icon changes to blue and it cannot be used, go to "Kulib EJDB service" again.
Go to the details page and set "Access to Sites" to "All Sites".
- Click the icon with three lines in the upper right corner of Firefox.
- Click on the add-on.
- Click "Extensions" displayed on the left side of the transition destination page.
- The detailed setting screen of "Kulib EJDB Service" is displayed.
Make sure that "Run in private window" is set to "Allow".
If it is not "Allow", change it to "Allow" and restart the browser.
